Rubber car mat retaining clips
Help ! has anyone got a spare retainers for the rubber car mats ( Fitting mats and broke one , hamfisted me)Tried to buy one from land rover and was told only supplied in the mat kit !
No Fear - PM TLO @ Yeovil LR sure he will be able to supply some. I had a similair issue having broken several,LR dealer came up with a bag full of them to fix mine.
I had the same issue but dealer suggested a box of Freelander retainers which comes separately and are identical. 8)Monday is a hard way to spend one-seventh of your life

Hi all,
I've got rubber mats... but there's no retainers in my case. Only empty holes !
Is there a easy way to add this retainers ?
Doddle to fit as they screw into the carpet and backing, plastic screw cuts its own thread into the carpet - just screw in and adjust the depth such that the turn button that fits through yr holes in yr mats is high enough to locate and turn on top of the rubber mat holes.
Get some fittings and get screwing!!! - sorry bad choice of words!!

The plastic retainers are the same I believe, but the position is different in the matts.
Also carpet and rubber are different, as the holes in our carpet matts bought after the car do not line up in the same place as the rubber matts with the car...
sorry if im going over old topics but i need 5 retaining clips for the rubber mats and my dealer (Stratstone in Hull) told me i would have to buy a set of mats at £80 plus vat in order to get the clips. That is so ridiculous - there must be amother way - they were so unhelpful and didnt offer any other alternatives or suggestions.

Retaining clips
I have a set of eight, unopened packet, retaining clips from either a D3 or RSS, if anyone wants them. Looks like two are used per mat. Can't be bothered splitting them, so if anyone wants eight? I will maybe get round to posting them in the future but not for a day or three.
Regards Geo. All Sold.

Got to be honest, I have found no need for them as the proper OEM Rubber Mats are so heavy they dont move under foot.
I find if you use the retaining clips, which self tap into the D3's carpet and underlay, this in time only tears and rips and unrepairable without replacing the whole interior carpet.
