tow bar
I've just had a new tow bar fitted. Its a genuine multi height tow bar fitted by my land rover main dealer. I then went out and bought an ifor williams GD84 twin axle trailer, but to my dismay neither of the two settings are at the correct height.
The lowest setting is far to low to even hook the trailer on, and the high setting leaves the front axle wheels hardly touching the road and all the weight is on the rear axle.
Any one got any idea's as I thought I'd bought the perfect towing vehicle yet its all seeming rather hard work.
Trailer is second hand but in mint condition so I'm pretty sure the fault is not with that.Jonny Dicko

I run mine without the back plate ,in the top setting and that is about spot-on. Can you alter the hitch height on the trailer ? I had a GD84 years ago and seem to remember having to alter the hitch for the same reason but if Im honest cant remember how I did it,possibly spacers and longer bolts. I still run Ifor trailers and have found removing the back plate gives best option.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, are you in "normal" ride height?
I know its an obvious question, but some people keep trailers parked 'round the back on a bumpy field.
