I see they have the castrol magnatec 5w 30 at £22.49 + vat ,glad i stocked up at tesco for £16 no free i litre though

To my knowledge, it doesn't exist. The only Edge oils labelled as 'Turbo diesel' are the TD 5w-40 and the TD 0w-30 (the 0w-30 has been discontinued, but some places still have it in stock). The Edge 5w-30 is perfectly suitable for diesel as well as petrol engines. Putting Tubodiesel on a can is just done so the manufacturers can give the customer a little extra confidence in the product and so they can sell the same oil for a couple of quid more.

They were cheap for it, but they were selling old stock. Not normally a problem, but the Magnatec has changed quite a lot over the last few months. Until Castrol told us they were going to update it, we were thinking of dropping it as it was quite basic and overpriced. Now it's a pretty decent oil, but still a little overpriced.

Oil and filter change completed with Castrol Edge - biggest pain was taking the heavy ally steering guard and the steel under sump tray off in the rain.
