Yet another Blackvue thread !!!
This time re installation...
has anyone hardwired it into the D4 ignition.
i would like it to be powered when the ignition button is pressed. Have you done this straight from the button or just tapped into the aux power sockets.
The aux sockets power up when the doors are open so I dont really want to do that, and Im not surem about ripping the dash to bits to get behind the switch, as im sure its not quite a simple as tapping into the button wiring.

Supplied from ignition will disable the parking event recording function. Are you sure you want that? Theres an ignition live wire under drivers seat, I think its purple but will check

change of Plan,
have wired up blackvue in D3 to aux battery with an isolator switch,
so now wanting to wire up D4 with isolator switch to a permanent live feed. is there any thing live in the front roof courtesy light housing i can use - dont really want to hack around with the trim around the radio etc or run wires through the bulkhead Duncan

I didn't find any permanent live somewhere near this housing in my D4 (maybe D3 is different). I think you have to run a wire through the headliner and down the A pillar. It's an easy job - you may see here.

Blackvue now on live feed from Fuse 40 and an isolation switch in the drivers footwell, hidden so its not obvious when i come to sell.
thats the first hole ive drilled in the D4 Duncan
