What does the LR Approved warranty NOT cover |
|
Ok, looking out for the replacement D3 and will get/include a 24 month LR Approved unlimited warranty including LRA (this might be 12 months included from the main stealer and me to buy an extra 12 months on top), so question "What does the LRA Warranty NOT cover?
Please no posts about other aftermarket warranties other than LRA as this may turn in to a sticky, but just genuine experiences on what might have been rejected as a claim when having a LRA unlimited warranty on a "up to 5 year old" D3

My recent claim for a clutch replacement at 27k was rejected as they "don't cover clutches" - £1200. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Wear and tear NOT covered
I had to pay for my ball joints at not much more than 60K 3 year+
They did pay for EPB re-build and spare wheel winch when technician thought it would be a good idea to use a power wrench on it
Not sure it represents good use of funds TBH

Commercial use! Phooey - I haven't even towed anything at all. Marzipan clutchplate more like. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Well, now towing is not going to be pleasurable whether I'm paid or not. I really dont see a clutch as being a service item every 24k.
When I was "discussing" the sorry situation withe the dealer they made a comment I've heard a few times before - "Ah - but you take it off-road!". Seems Land Rover don't want you to take it off tarmac and warrant accordingly. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

The comment wasn't aimed at you. Character tows for commercial use so it was my advice to check that LR warranty covers vehicles which are used for commercial purposes - such as towing for a living. Now, if LR warranty don't cover commercial use, it is down to Character to decide whether he tells them he tows commercially or whether he tells them he only tows under pleasure/leisure circumstances.
I don't see that they would exclude commercial use, but the last thing you want is to pay an LR used vehicle premium which includes a warranty which can't be used. 2014 D4 XS
