hi hippo,
where exactly did you order the dvd?
how is the coverage in cities the size of Hradec Kralove or Pardubice? Any idea?
...further to previous commence, I think the coverage of the cities like ones You mentioned above is still not good. Major advantegeous of new version is adding of the small villages and connection between them. This is what I see when I go anywhere, because previouse version did not include those data in satisfactory level and some roads of lower classification were not displayed and used for route calculations.

But isn't YIW 500260, Europe 2007-2008 just the latest dvd without any coverage of this region?

Interesting. You'd have thought that of there really wasa new dvd on its way in the near future Navteq would have had more to say about it. The fact is that for the last few years LR has been extracting approximately Euro 2,000 a time for equipment which is effectively useless. Even if vehicle sales in this region are comparatively low, the millions of Euro earned would surely have been sufficient to pay any roylaty fees on the maps or whatever.

Dear cpt.
I took several shots from YIW500260 to enable You compare the coverage of the Pardubice and Hradec Kralove cities You asked about.
I am too lazy to insert and install older version to see differecies, so please have a look onto the same position and let me know whether You can see improvement. Since both cities have population under k100 people, I think there should be more and less the same coverage in comparision with previous version.

To NHR:
I wouldn't see it that black.
Navteq always sent me similar answers that are no answers.
It seems they want to answer all enquiries without giving any information.
Strange policy in my eyes: I call it "unformation instead of information". Probably the LR dealer gets better information from the importer.
The UK dealerw will be informed the best since they get info from LR in direct but whic UK dealer cares about czech or polish navigation....?

Thank you very much for your efforts!
Comparing to my version it sure is an improvement (I have a blank screen....)
but for real using it is dissappointing. Can be used in some cases but mostly I'll have to use my tomtom.
If I would get it (who knows ), at least it can be used as a screen saver... (the image of the wheels must have been burnt into the screen during the almost 3 years of displaying the same image.....)

This user-friendly device enables You to connect mentioned there devices like dvd player, Tv tuner, and Reverse Backup Camera as well as some other video sources.
Regarding the NavTeq and communication with them I have similar experience, but from their Map Reporter I know they have fully enough coverage for our part of the world,... but the vehicle systems application provided by car manufacturer cause our disappoiting in this matter. Please check their ( NavTeq) Map Reporter on their www.navteq.com and You will be surprised how precise their maps are ready for use.
Unfortunately the problem is system itself, because the DVD device is not able to include more then 8,5 GB of DATA on one dual layer disc, what is not enough for whole Europe coverage. I know the Toyota have few DVDs, but Czech Republic is also not such well done as it would to be.
I see the disc is full of data, I have one only idea and expecting for future: to wait until the the LR will supply their Clients with multi DVDs package enabling users to insert appropriatae dics for his preferred part of the Europe...so it should be done DVD specially for Central Europe plus neighbours countries as far as disc capacity will allow.

I also noticed the detail they have on the mapreporter interface.
Even better than the Tomtom
So good that the private road to the factory is included which is OK.
So good that roads on my private land, that in fact are no roads but tracks created by fishermen are there as well, which is not OK.
When this comes out on a DVD for the LR3, it will be able to navigate me over my private land....

...maybe You should pass Your pub without pit stopping, then find Your way home must be easier even without navigation. D3nosaur
