I wouldn't expect it to be a patch on a remap from Bell Autos, but I just thought I'd ask if anyones tried it?

I'm saving hard for my remap Thumbs Up

No, but as a general rule when approaching Tuning Boxes, for

"Selection of different MAPs from ECO-Modus (Program 0) to Power-Modus (Program 4)"

I would read

"Selection of 4 different £0.05 resistors from GeneralGuesswork(prog1) through to SurelyThisOneWillDoSomethingGood?(prog4)"

There are people who swear by and people who swear at.... diesel tuning boxes Whistle

I have had both remaps and 'plug in' boxes on all sorts of cars and to be honest very little difference in performance.....I found the boxes gave a bigger improvement from a standing start whereas the remaps seemed to be more progressive.

As for a £89 box.....may not be as cheap as it sounds given that most of the diesel boxes on the market probably cost less than this to produce and it's just the 'mark up' that changes a box from cheap to expensive.....

Rolling with laughter

The ... tuningbox has to be installed between the common rail pressure sensor and the ECU

Ooh I wonder what signal this is modifying to fool the ECU into increasing the power then?

It's a cheap (as you can see) and extremely crude way to increase power output. It doesn't take into account any of the other engine operating parameters, just fakes a rail pressure signal.

Interestingly a German product but not TÃœV approved...

If you want to lay smoke like a Challenger 2 then this is the product for you Thumbs Up

All it will do is sling more fuel in for any given throttle setting. Not a great idea
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

and exactly the type of ECU tuning that the new UK MOT regs are looking to catch Thumbs Up
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

The new MOT 'standard' is still up for discussion.

To test diesel engines under 'true load' conditions will require a 'rolling road' dynometer to be fitted in every test station.

The government wont pay for it and neither will the owners of the test centre!!

It aint going to happen Shocked
