Remote Radio controls fault |
|
I have installed the steering wheel radio remote buttons and they work fine some of the time but most of the time they do not work except the volume control.
I don't think the radio software is getting confused. The controls appear to work if you rotate the steering wheel, possibly bad connections in the wheel. Does anyone know how to fix this, D3 TDV6 HSE Atacama Sand previous RRS TDV6, D3 TDV6 SE White, Td5 Disco, td4 Freelander MMCC Sceptic...)

Did the dealer sort the software with it. Mine intalled mine but also had to get passwords to change software to add settings. They will charge you for it but if you have service or other issue before then they may be kind.
They said they do work without changes but you could have problems. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It seems strange but all the buttons worked at first most of the time but now they all only operate if I turn the steering wheel may 1/3 of a turn from TDC particularly to the left. I dont know if it is possible to check the connectors slip ring or whatever it has, I am hesitant going near the air bag system.
I will ask one of the nearest dealers if they need to be reconfigured in the software of the car... Although I dont have much confidence in them as 2 weeks ago they told me they couldnt reset my service indicator because they would have to replace my speedometer if they did.
According to other dealers this is not true.
I assume it was reset at the 12000 klm service (serviced by a different dealer) as it came on for the 24000klm service.
The first dealer I mentioned also deny changing my suspension software settings when I had the recent enhancement done. I know the car is definitely higher and unfortunately more firm. I guess they havent read the enhancement details. D3 TDV6 HSE Atacama Sand previous RRS TDV6, D3 TDV6 SE White, Td5 Disco, td4 Freelander MMCC Sceptic...)

Sounds more like a problem with a contact than software.
It must be warranty issue
The problem with your dealer is he is not checking this site “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

There is a 'clock spring' arrangement in the centre of the steering wheel (behind the airbag), all the controls connect to that, could be a defect in the clock spring or a poor connection, it's a dealer /warranty fix if it's the clock spring itself. There have been a couple of instances reported on here, only early build though and normally only shown as CC errors

Nice one!
so what's CRC 5.56?
The only things I know about with 5.56 in their description are 'bullet shaped'
