iPad questions
G'day,
Has anyone found a good mount and location for an iPad?
And is anyone running any good off road mapping apps for their IPad? Eg mud maps, motion x gps or memory maps?

Thanks guys!
Does it get in the way much in that position or is it pretty good. I guess it's the best spot without going up to the window.
Who supplied the actual mount to the dash?
Are you running an external GPS unit because it's a Wifi only Ipad?Disco 4 SE

Doesent get in the way ... But personally I would of prefered it to come out an extra inch from the dash
Mount holding the brodit iPad mount is a dashmount .. Fits without drilling any holes.
Yes it's a wifi only iPad G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

How do you get an external GPS unit to interface to the iPad? Is it Bluetooth or is there another way.
Interested as we haveca wifi iPad too and for occasional use this would be neat.

I have an app on my iPhone that creates a wifi hot spot , and as I have unlimited data on my iPhone I just log into that .
If not and I'm away with work ( like when abroad ) I just pay to get on a hotel / airport Internet ( well work pays )
Also have a spare data card that I have in a dongle , I would of used that in the iPad had I got a 3G version , but my 64gb iPad was a very very good bargain G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I ended up ordering a Dashmount the same as your wiggs.
The other items i bought from Ram mount in the U.S
Basically they make up a small arm and ball to mount the ipad on that brings it out from the mount about 50-60mm (2 inches) with a ball to pivot it.
Thanks for the advice on having it slightly further out from the dash. I held it in this spot and it made sense.
Will let you know how it goes once all the pieces turn up in the mail. Photos to come
