So are you saying that if we secured this sort of numbers in the future that they wouldn't do a similar deal 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Suggestion - just make the number up to 20 and sell the remaining ones on ebay- there will be some will who will pay a higher price of £200.Loving the power of the TDV8!

I am coming at this late as a new member, so apologies for silly questions to help me decide if its for me:
How much protection is there already in place, I can see some steel plates.
When I pick up courage (when its not quite so new) to go off road (poss on Disco3 event), how much will my side steps and fixed tow bar restrict me
What else do you need to have reasonable "protection" (clean answers pls chaps) for off-road
How easy is it the fit the guard? I have most tools.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I'm very much a newbie when it comes to off-roading, but I've been a few times now. I've got side-steps and I'll be getting a fixed towbar.
The steps do get in the way a bit, but haven't been a major problem. Deep ruts can be tricky, as the steps stick out further than the wheels. This means that you have to try and drive out of the ruts (which you're not supposed to do - ask d3matt!). The steps have been fine at LR Experience sites, but I did manage to bend my left one up slightly at the Thames Valley event (not particularly D3 friendly!). It bent back down fine! They've not got scratched at all.
Not got the bar yet, but apparently it can dig in a bit as it reduces the approach/departure angle. Its very strong, though, and survives quite well, acting a little like an anchor. Obviously not enough to stop a D3!
As for the sump protection - my reason for buying this is so that I don't have to keep taking off and replacing the current plastic one. This plastic one covers the recovery point on the front, so has to be removed before you get down and dirty - you don't want to have to go crawling through the mud to get it off once you're stuck! The plastic screws/fittings keep breaking/falling out with repitive use. Also, the Mantec one looks good, and it looks as though it would provide extra protection as a bonus! Guard sounds as though its easy to fit (all holes present, screws supplied).
Other off-road protection - just don't go alone! Maybe a rope and shackles too.

Looks like the salesman got to me. I'm in for a penny and a pound. Now I really will have to go to an event, armed with all that clingfilm you wrap yourselves in.
