Hi disco7,
Welcome !
Just a few words to tell you what a good choice you did !!
I ordered my D4 HSE with a few options (tow, cameras,winter,7 seats, hifi, roof bars ...)
end of april and recieved it 1st of october. I had thus one of the first
SDV6 ( TDV6 in France is now down at 211 hp).
I have done 7000 km and I can just say what a great car it is. VERY comfortable, silent,
well finished. The engine is powerfull, gearbox excellent and equipment complete. I took in otpion
the high Harman Kardon logic 7, 480 watts hifi system. Fantastic !
The 7 seats system is perfect and very easy to put on. Plenty of space of course.
No offroad for the moment but only good snow as almost everybody in Europe and of course, no problem at all ...
The only "black" (not really in fact) point is consumption : with 85 % road and highways and 15 % city , a little loaded with my work stuff, it gives me no less than 11 l / 100 km and this was the best ...On a highway at 135 140 kmh, It took 11,5 l/100 and on my way back home, following a big Mercedes GL driving a good 140 145 , it took 12,2...
I wonder how they got the "official" 9,6 l average consumption...
But after all it is not so bad. The car is big and heavy and this is the price to pay to drive a great car !!
No problem at all on my D4 ! 100 % satisfaction !
Just a few days to wait for you ... and you won't regret it, thats for sure !!!

Apart from the lumbar support crapping out, and intermittent bluetooth problems, and the 'auto' heating setting not keeping the front side windows mist free (i have to keep swtiching to face blast or windscreen blast for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so), mine has been great. Fuel consumption better than Dionys, after 9000km I'm usually under 10l/100km on a tank (displayed), this is 10% optmistic, so i'm getting 600+ km from 70+ liters. I rarely go over 120km/h though. using arm rest more than rear diff

Thanks for all the post guys
Its been a tuff year for our company and we've worked dam hard so we have decided to treat ourselves this Christmas. One big present!!
Its a bit scary spending over 40k on a car and will be the most expensive car we have ever owned, espec when you read about all the problems! We hope the good outway the bad and we enjoy the disco as much as all the other owners on here.
I had a 1989 rangerover 3.5 v8 for offroading and my business partner had a 1991 disco 3.9. Awesome toys, would go anywhere on and off road, we miss them and totally regret selling them. I wont be doing any offroading in the new landy lol.
@DIONYS33 - thanks for your post, you have put my mind some what a at ease. I expect the fuel costs to be high and hopeing that any electrical faults will be covered by the waranty, I am expecting some issues.
@747_JK - Cant belive your having a new engine fitted! Im guessing they gave you a Disco to get you by while its getting fixed?? I cant only imagine how p***ed you must be! 2012 Mercedes E250 Coupe AMG

Hello,
Elemental ; my fuel consumption is based on Real figures coming from the little calculation I did once
I fill my tank. The trip computer is too optimistic ! I observed 1,2 to 1,4 liters
less than the reality (the 10% you mentioned) !!
This is not fair from the ingeneers who did that great car. They probably did
not want us to face the real consumption. But come on, we are big boys ... We are
able to understand ....
The BMW 530 XD I had before gave me the good and real figures ... It is then
not a technical problem ...
But I get used to my 11 to 11,5 l/100 . My budget is done with these figures.
And I forget it immediately with the pleasure to drive the car...
Moreover, I read in the posts that it is decreasing with the KMS. So I wait and will see... Disco 4 SDV6 HSE nara bronze
