I have my D3 insured with Direct Line & they are asking for confirmation of the specific make & model of alarm/innobiliser !
I have tried telling them this is a factory fitted by LR they came back to tell me yes it is thachom approved! But till want confirmation from the dealer, installer or independent inspection!!!
I have sent then spec sheets a letter from my dealer, any one help out there?

The instruction manual states that the alarm fitted is Thatcham approved.

The alarm is Thatcham approved, it has to be now. Try National Farmers Union, they are brilliant and of course specialise in LR. I have my trailers on the same insurance and they will add any car to the same policy with no problems.

I know insurance is different for everyone / everywhere, but for me Endsleigh (with Alea) worked out way cheaper the Direct Line - over £2000 cheaper.
They did not ask for any details on the factory alarm/immobiliser and they were not insistent on a tracker either.... fitted one any way for peace of mind tho.

My D3 costs £412 per year on business use, fully comp, protected bonus etc etc, including 3 trailers and I cover about 120,000 miles per year. Includes the female side of the partnership as well and she is Italian Thats with NFU and I think that is pretty dammed good. Nearly forgot, includes EU travel.

Try Frizzell (Liverpool Victoria) I pay £375 fully comp, protected NCD (got 8 years worth currently), full EU cover. I'm 36 end of the month (so you've still got time to get me a pressie ) and apparently this is a high risk area. The End
