Pirrelli ATR advise please |
|
Sorry another tyre thread.
I currently have new zero's on the front of my D3 (around 4 months old) and need to replace my rears. I have decided to stick with pirelli but want to go with ATR on the rear.
1 is there any problem with mixing different tread patterns on front and rear.
2 the tyre fitters said that the ATR's are only H rated and my insurance company might kick off if i have an accident if the manufacturers stipulate V rated should be used. Any truth in this or a*s covering?
im guessing number 2 is not a problem as a lot of people on here run ATR but what about question 1.

Apart from this being in the wrong section, you have a permanent 4wd vehicle and putting different types of tyres on with different grips, even if they are on the same axle, will cause serious problems. I am sure someone will give you chapter and verse but don't do it.

Have you looked under a D3/4?
I personally wouldn't worry about having two front Zeroes and two rear ATRs, nor the speed rating; would think finding ATRs in 19" is a bigger problem. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Thanks
Canburne, what serious problems can It cause? Surely having new zero's on the front and knackered ones on the rear as I have now are different grip levels.
Can anyone add more detail to the problems it would cause. Thanks Mods:

We have many D3/4's in to us for tyres and never had any with problems running different tyres of the same size front and rear.
Always best to have matching tyres all round to have the same grip level on each corner.
Remember that there are some nasty tyres available which you would be best to steer clear off.
Always happy to talk tyres over the phone so feel free to call.
