Imagine having the adaptive cruise control (you know, where it stops you hitting the vehicle in front) and it only worked 70% or even 90% of the time.
You just wouldn't use it would you?
That's where I am with the HBA!
Pointless & potentially dangerous!

Adaptive cruise control is an aid too - AFAIK it doesn't absolve the driver of his or her responsibility. Adaptive cruise is very useful if it is used appropriately. As a safety aid, it works - not so much as an autopilot My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

Indeed and I must say i havn't used adaptive cruise control but I can imagine some people using it & getting into the habit of closing in on a bit of slower moving traffic ahead and just letting it do it's thing. until one day...

I could have sworn I had already written and posted this but I can't find it so sorry if a duplicate pops up!
I have a MY12, HSE and I have been wondering why my headlight assist didn't seem to be working. I looked through this post and discovered it was a setting in the "OK" menu but guess what, it's not in my menu! I thought this was standard on HSE. Was it an optional extra?

I think it's part of the Vision Assist Pack which is about 1K extra on an HSE Cheers Ian

Was amazed that this new fangled thing actualy works and works well for me, would put it in the high 90's.
Was even more amazed my voice control worked as well, which in a way was a downside as the old one in the sport was good amuzement for the kids on a long journey D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Ah, that accounts for it. Thanks.
Does anyone know if it can be switched on with a Faultmate? Come to think of it, is there a list anywhere of options that can be "accessed" with Faultmate (or anything else!)

Thats the problem half the time (or 30% ). You see a car coming as the sky gets the usual bit brighter in the distance, and then as it gets brighter you wonder if your beam is going to drop. It doesn't but its not needed yet so you move your hand in readiness. Then the car comes into view and the lights dont drop as its a shallow S bend so you move to take them off beam and just as you move your hand, the car drops the beam but its too late and you have pulled on the stalk and now given the driver in front a flash. he in turn flashes you to show his beam is not on and you think bloody high beam assist.
