For Aussie D3 owners the Maxtrax (no affiliation) looks like a suitable bit of kit to carry when driving in the soft stuff.

Only drawback I can see, unless there was room inside it would be a case of carrying a pair on the roofrack.

I know that TFC asked about something like these a while back. They retail for AU$295 a pair and were developed and presumably tested on the Sunshine Coast.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)
