Who is going to buy Land Rover
Heard on the grape vine that Renault and Hyundai have expressed an interest. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Odds on favourite at the moment is the Russian Billionaire owner of LDV who has employed Martin Leach (Ex Ford of Europe Boss) to oversee things.
If Leach was running Land Rover with lots of Russian money to do it, things could only get better.
Toyota are the only ones who could buy Land Rover and not even notice that the money had left their account. It wouldn't really make sense for them to buy it though.

Not sure what Smolensky was doing buying TVR, I think they had a vision that noone else shared. Many would argue that TVR was a lost cause and would never yield the volume they anticipated.
Gaz group who purchased LDV are totally different and Leach is one of the best in the business.

But their sun visors are too small !
From what I read / hear / know (not a lot) I kind of like Oliver's theory. Seems to have been a great move for LDV.

Well....manufacturing jobs are always at risk in the UK regardless of the industry...All service driven now. Don't forget that even Ford makes more money from facilitating the consumer credit than from the vehicle profit margins.
We shouldn't really start to worry about LR until there is confirmation of disposal.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Its all a rumour at the moment.
And its Jag they are rumouring around too and having LR as part of the deal. Mind you LR and Jag are very close these days so it would be hard to separate them.
If the Japanese, Korean's or Chinese by LR we will have to all call the company 'Rand Rover' of course
So who's up for bulk order of the letter 'R' for our bonnets ?

You will also have read speculative stories about the possible disposal of assets, such as one or other of our premium brands or even Ford Credit. To clarify, we have not said that any of our businesses are for sale, only that we are examining all options to strengthen our business, which is something every prudent company does.
