Ukraine

For every £1 in premiums paid to the Motor Insurance industry last year, £1.23 was paid out in claims. HUGE increase in fraud rings in asian communities (empirical fact, not jingoism) and a massive increase in personal injury claims led by the ambulance chasers. Add the number of uninsured drivers and it all gets a bit daft.

To provide balance, I should add that the latter two categories are skewed quite spectacularly towards white males in their 30s and 40s based on the documents I've seen.

For a bit of background, read http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/finance/ianmc...ers-worse/
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Also the fact that the wholesale market and reinsurance rates have taken a bit of a hit over the last few years.

You got off lightly then, I have a life time of no claims bonus-no points etc, and they still hammered me Big Cry[/quote]

I am expecting they will try to give a hammering next year, but I will just shop around again. I am a low milage user, drive like a grandad because I am one!!! Wink

I'm sure all you intelligent chaps use some sort of comparison site, right?

Swiftcover.com for both my cars. 400 for the FFRR and 358 for the Jag XF. Me and wifey, both 40ish in a 'B' postcode. Only claim in last 5 years was a windscreen.

Strangely, I can't get any further discounts for stuff like Tracker. Other companies will do this but they charge more in the 1st place. I do always run through at least 2 comparison sites at every renewal which strangely often come up with different quotes for the same companies. Go figure.

Oh, and the red telephone peeps (who aren't on any comparison sites) have never even got close. Probably why they're not on comparison sites then Smile
