Hi All
Just thought I would share this with everybody I did a V8 brake conversion to my D3 Yesterday and what a difference it stops like you wouldnt believe.
The conversion consists of larger carriers, discs and yellow stuff brake pads the calipers are the same on the 2.7 as they are on the V8.
I also had a very interesting conversation with the technical department at EBC and was told not to use green stuff pads on this vehicle as it is too heavy for these pads and that the D3 should run yellow stuff because of the weight the yellow stuff pads are actually marked SUV/Truck they werent cheap but the difference was amazing.
Im still running everything in so will update as soon as they are run in.
cheers

I've been using the V8 discs and caliper holders, front and rear, with the standard LR pads for the last 3 and a half years with absolutely no problems on my D3. Smile Makes a significant difference over the standard discs.

V8 Conversion

Hi all
Someone on here mentioned about the state of their discs when they took them off I think mine had been on since new and I was shocked at the state of the inner disc face, the outer disc face was fine with minimal wear so if you get a chance check the inner disc faces as the fronts look perfect but the inners wont be.
The difference in braking was a huge leap forward when I did the V8 Brake conversion but the difference could have been better due to the poor state that the OE discs were in, in the first place.
cheers

Front disc: SDB000614
Front caliper carrier: SEH500013

Reat disc: SDB000646

Several kits available from Advanced Factors:

No EBC one there, but Steve does offer EBC pads so could presumably suppy.

i too have just upgraded the fronts on mine to 360mm V8 discs - only the fronts were worn so changed them.

when the standard size rears need changing i will upgrade to V8 items too. Until then the brakes are great - no issues with brake balance, its more stable than ever! Thumbs Up

Got all my bits from Advanced Factors in Southampton and had them fitted by Regal Autosport, top job and loving it!!! 8) 8) 8)

Thanks

Thank you for all the information contained in these posts and a massive thank you for the part numbers, advanced factor's are brilliant I highly recommend them. I went for the TRW systems kits to do the upgrade the disk's have arrived and are painted black, they look really good. I am doing front and rear at same time I will let you all know how long it took me on DIY. Thumbs Up

Why are the rear discs(350mm) bigger than the front ones(340)?
