| urgent - LR Warrenty on second hand SE D3 |

Hi Im getting a second hand D3 SE model Nov 2006 65K it comes with a 12 month warrenty is it worth extending the warrenty for an extra 12 months for £590
They say you have to decide before you take the vehicle.
do I dont I ???

A lot of people on here don't rate the LR warranty but go for Warranty Direct or Warranty Wise ( something like that), do a search for warranty. I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

the full LR warranty is OK, but if you have done more that 70k (i think) and less than 100K, then the Select warranty is the only options and that excludes loads of things.
I thought SELECT was a waste of time until they paid out £1300 for fixing my wheel bearing issues in France this year.. Duncan

Check the cover - does it include failure from wear and tear or just breakdown and which components are included or excluded. If the cover is good then £590 is a reasonable price especially if it includes the roadside/nationwide recovery.

The benefit AFAIK of taking it now (ie extending the "Approved used" warranty by a year) is that you get Approved Used, and not Select, for your second year - which is a materially lower grade of cover.

If you wait a year and then renew it, chances are that you'll be over 75k miles and (depending on Reg date of your car) it may also be over 5 yrs old, and so Select would be the only option.
The price looks fine to me.  ____
