Newbie needs advice on buying 2nd hand Disco |
|
Hi All,
Title pretty much says it all.
Hoping to buy a 8/57 Disco SE Auto with 20k on the clock within the next couple of weeks.
Coming from a Toyota Prius I have absolutely no experience with 4x4's and being completely honest I am slightly concerned about the potential reliability of the Disco
Any things in particular that I should check out when I view the car?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Shye

Hi Shye,
I have a 2007 SE and cannot rate the car highly enough. Is the car from a main dealer? Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights

No from an independent, otherwise I wouldn't be as worried (FWIW) - obviously a bit cheaper too!
I really like the car, although the body roll will take a bit of getting used to compared to a "normal" car and it's reassuring they seem to be doing better in reliability surveys!
Been looking for a little while and feel I know every Disco available on the internet that meet my criteria
Just seen there is a similar thread below suggesting looking at the turbo, air suspension, air con and EGR!
Real newbie questions, but what is EGR?
Any other things I should be looking for?

Fair play!
Yeah I know, actually keeping the Prius though. I got the distinct feeling I was getting the same response from some dealers when they asked what I was currently driving.
I reckon that this should even out my carbon footprint
