instead of spending squillions on developing 'pedestrian friendly' cars, couldn't we go back to teaching people good old fashioned common sense? like don't cross the road if there's a car coming and 'briefly look up from your texting marathon every 10 seconds or so'
I honestly think that we're getting to a stage where some sort of exam needs to be passed before we can be issued with a licence to breed!
People just don't take responsibility for themselves anymore - if something happens to them then the hunt is on for who to blame, in the vast majority of cases they should look in a mirror!
I must admit that if it comes to being hit by a 'pedestrian friendly' bumper and not being hit at all, I know which option I'd prefer!Have a nice day!

or do what they do in the states ...and throw them in prison for jaywalking
I agree....we have to drive with due care and attention to other road users and pedestrians ....have they no responsibilities in turn 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

A girl stepped out and crossed the road in front of me on purpose last night. She could have waited until I had passed (as her friend did), but she seemed to think it was really funny that I had to stop for her. What gives? Since when did stepping out in front of a moving car become a sensible (or funny) thing to do?
Sometimes, you've really got to wonder about people.
