Steering Vibration

Anybody out there had a problem with intermittent vibration through the steering? I'm getting an occassional violent shudder when my 102k mile D3 hasnt been used for a few days which goes away after a few minutes. Last time it was in for it's MOT my mechanic mentioned that the front control arms were in need of replacement ... could this be it? Rolling Eyes Any advice would be appreciated Very Happy

Haven't experienced it myself on Scorpions (but I use mine almost every day) but some tyres will develop flat spots if not used for a few days, it's not an issue and they quickly return to shape after a short drive. Sounds like this may be your problem to me

From France with poor english

I had the same problem after a change of brake discs and brake pads. I greased the slide pad (where the pad slip in calipers) and the back of the pads (where the brake piston push the pads). All the vibrations are gone.

I hope it's explicit

yep, could be the pads/discs.

I had quite a bad vibration that would suddenly occur after travelling at a constant speed - change of discs sorted it.

best to jack up and test wheel.

I had a mega wheel bearing failure in france this year and didnt experience any vibrations.

Since I put my 20'' stomers and Coopers Zeons on I have experienced some intermittent vibration through the steering wheel.

Only at high speed and only on certain surfaces.

Im going for a 4 wheel laser alignment next week so I will report back and advise accordingly.

Cheers.
