Can anyone give me any clues as to why I can't search now? I used to be able to, but any Search now just leads to an error page. I have checked that this site is listed in Internet Options, Security as a trusted Site. Any advice would be gratefully received. JT

If you enter just one word, what happens? If you enter two words, you need to put + in front of each word Bodsys Brake Bible

Nope. Just get error with one word, as well as more than one with +s.

Error page says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Back still works, and takes me back to the Search input page.

Unfortunately, IE is hiding the real error message.
The most likely cause is that one of the words you're searching for is being detected by the server as a possible hostile attack - it wouldn't happen to include the word CD in it by any chance? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Switch off "friendly error pages".
The setting is in:
Tools menu > Internet Options
Click the "Advanced" tab
Towards the bottom of the "Browsing" section is an option (tick box) called "Show friendly HTTP error messages" - make sure this is unticked
Press OK to close the options window, and try again 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Martin, thanks for taking an interest. I have unticked friendly error reporting, but it still gives the same error message, even after restarting IE, and then rebooting.
As to what I was searching for, I have been away and not used the Disco3 for 3 weeks. When I started it up, the gear lever felt stiff as I moved it to D, and then the gearbox doesn't always seem to engage after a change down, the engine revs a bit but no movement, and then forward movement starts with a bit of a jerk. So I was searching Hints and Tips for Disco3 for the word gearbox.
I guess the info I need is in there somewhere, but I can't search for it!
Frustrating!
Thanks for any help!

Oh, by the by, if I try to Search in Firefox 3.6.8, it just says Done and displays an empty page.
Any clues in that?

Can't help you with the search problem, but this guide about how to fix the auto-box selector linkage may help:
