Idling vibration
When standing still, engine idling, engine/transmission vibration is noticably transmitted through seat base. Nothing felt through steering wheel. Doesnt matter if in D or P. Goes away immediately when pulling off or if raising idle speed a bit. Is this common ? Not a major concern, but just seems excessive for a car in this price range. Found a lot of threads on vibration at speed, not standing still...

Peter I've got the same symptoms too. I've changed the front ARB bushes as there was indeed some play (plenty of threads on this), but that did not cure the problem.
The stealer has "checked" all other bushings and bearings and is convinced they are all ok. Also checked belt tensioner pulley bearings - ok too. His conclusion is that the engine mounts are starting to wear off, but after 20k or so with mostly mild on road driving I find it curious
Try feeling for a difference between N and D; if slightly more pronounced when in D (like mine) then more likely my dealer has got it right
Could be fuel injectors given your car's mileage.
This could be checked out by someone like TFC with the full diagnostic kit but as a quick check, does your idle speed fluctuate? Have you had the injectors cleaned at all?
I usually run some of this (http://www.powerenhancer.co.uk/product.php/3/bg-244--for-diesel-) through mine every 10k miles or so to keep things smooth. Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

The idle speed doesnt fluctuate at all. Good tip about injector cleaning though, no harm in trying that option. The car is still under warranty, so if the feedback here is that there should be NO vibrations felt through seat when idling I will have the dealer check it out when it goes in for 72.000km service soon.

I had this recently. Stealer said injectors were worn, surprising at 75k. Local garage said dual mass fly wheel.
Stealer 0
Local garage 1
Replaced alongside new clutch etc and now runs sweet as can be.

Same problem with mine, only a slight vibration but noticable. Only started happening last week afer i blanked the EGR's off, have also noticed rev counter fluctuating between 750 & 800 rpm when i'm in P and stationary in D Another suprising thing is fuel consumption has got worse by 1-2 mpg
Any ideas anyone ?

well, now I've been through a full tank of diesel and a bottle of injector cleaner, no difference. So I'll bring this up as something for the dealer to check at next service (72.000km).
