Replacing Brake Light Bulb

Just had the offside brake light bulb fail - the tail light element is still working & interestingly the 2nd tail light in that unit apparetly also uses a 21/5w bulb even though it only runs as a 5w tail light, so should be able to swap them over. Have followed the manual & removed the 2 retaining screws - apparently to change a bulb you have to remove the whole tail light assembly. However, I can't get the assembly to come off! Has anyone done this before (without breaking the light unit!) - I suspect it has to be pushed in a particular direction Question
