Are they a picture of your tintent to put over the satnav screen when not towing so you don't miss it??

They are to attach to your trailer so the Tow Assist function can function.
You lowly D3'ers wouldnt understand as its a D4 function
this may help solve the mystery ?

it allows the camera in the tailgate to focus on it to make sure tow assist works.
there are videos of Tow Assist on the LR website if you need to see it in action Duncan

mmh, I can see it might be useful for hitching up, but for reversing your trailer? I think I'll stick to watching my mirrors! (not that I can have it anyway )Andy

cannot try mine as the tow assist icon has disapeared off the system It goes in in a couple of weeks for first service and to try to find the tow assis icon. Am I right in saying it should be in the camera section under special views MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Its in the Special Views section of the camera system. Does the car still ask if you've connected a trailer when you plug the electrics in? Had a similar problem myself and it turned out that the car couldn't "see" the towing electrics and had to be re-enabled by the dealer.
