Get a 130 Defender throw a bit of £ at it Sound proofing, seat extension rails etc and you will have a very comfy car.
I have just driven a 3800 mile round trip to Morocco (it got to 48deg) and back in my 130 and never once did I feel uncomfortable nor did my passengers. I constantly drive around the UK day in day out with no issues.
I have had 2 D3s and covered about 90k in each of them, the D4 is not my cup of tea/not suitable for my work so I went for a Defender. The only time I have missed the Disco was when stuck on the M62 last month for 4 hours I thought 'If only I had my Disco I could have watched TV'
All I can say is take one out for a test drive first before you are swayed by people that have never driven one. You may love it or like Dunc hate it.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
