On the way into work this morning I got a the red battery light, and now found the alternator to be knackered
Is this something that can be done DIY? Any instructions or guides anywhere to look at?
Or is it best to take it to a garage?
Also does anyone know the part number? I'll try also try to get hold of Nick
Thanks

There are a few guides on here, and it is pretty easy to do. BUT I failed at doing mine, purely because I could not get the viscous fan off.
Took mine to a local independent and he did it for £70, including fitting a new serpentine belt. Alternator and belt was from TLO but I think I got the last alternator, as they are on back order! worth ringing him.
Have a search for "alternator", there are a few threads around on how to do it and one on the AULRO (aussie LR owners) forum with pictures on how to tackle the job if you decide to! 2014 D4 XS

I've booked it into Whites Landrover in Edinburgh for tomorrow morning, hes charging the same labour of £70 including the new belt, so not worth the hassle really
Thanks
