stay away from warranty direct
my car has been in LR for 10 days now it went in for
2 EGR valves
2 front wishbones and bushes
and the boot would not open
so after sending a engineer to LR who turned up took 5 pics and went after 4 minutes they have said the egr valves are not covered because its down to carbon build up and that there is no problem with the wishbones he didnt road test the car so they are not liable for them and the boot lock is a cable thats snapped thats not covered either does anyone know what my next step should be because im f*****G fuming with it

Yes, me included! It was done on 17th June. The only thing was that they would only pay 1.7 hours labour (which is what it's apparently booked at at LR) so it cost me a little (£30 ish). Other than that, absolutely no problem.

Now don't say I didn't warn you all.
Gave them up 1.5yrs ago through non payouts.
Moved to an AA warrranty .. was absolutely great.
Now they've welched on paying up also, so just cancelled policy and now winging it.
As said ... scumbags the lot of them!! ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

Sorry to hear that - very irritating. Sounds like it's been the opposite experience to me Boot cable sounds fair if it's not mentioned in the policy? However, isn't the reason EGR valves fail because of the carbon build up anyway - so that's odd it't not covered.
On the wishbones - had they failed, or were they saying that wouldn't replace the entire piece if only the bushes had gone?
WD initially came back to me to say they wouldn't cover a steering alignment as part of the work on my car. However, I phoned them, put my case to them and we came to a reasonable solution. It's annoying and hugely frustrating, but I'd get on the phone, just be calm and polite and try and oil the wheels of bureaucracy a bit before you start any legal proceedings! If I'm honest whilst my experience of customer care and dealing with mechanics was great, the admin side of WD could be tighter. I'd give them a chance to talk through the detail as to why they think it's not covered and try and sort it out. It may just be admin goon-ups/chinese whispers.

I agree with Ron and wouldn't bother with these warranties as it seems an absolute lottery to me.
Id rather put £600 a year in a sinking fund and take my chances!
At the end of the day your buying an insurance policy and these companies are not here spending thousands on advertising to lose money!
Had my D,3 12months and £600 up already.

Had some work done on mine recently, suspansion bushes or something the problem was picked up by the LR dealer at the last service, at the second request the agreed to accept responsibility and the work was done a few days later when the parts arrived, but what will happen next time?????.
