Rear cover help!! Spoiling my Picnic's!

What is the best rear cover to get for my D3 i,m sick of hoovering and cleaning the rear out after the dog has been in there when we want to go for a nice day out. Eating a picnic sat at the races on the tailgate when its full of dog hairs isnt as appealing as a nice clean carpet! I want a cover i can remove for days out but throw in when the dogs are with me??? Whats the best??

Dog Hair!

I also have used hatchbag liners in previous cars but have opted for a "Petzden" fold flat canvas dog cage for my Discovery.I have found that this contains all the dog hair/snot,in the cage and is easily wiped/hoovered when empty. It has the addded bonus that if the dog is wet and decides to have a good shake in the back of the car, then the headcloth and windows aren't affected by the fallout!
It folds flat & doesn't rattle when left in car.
Downside is that its canvas and net construction so if the dog is a chewer its a non starter.
Upside is that the smell of dog doesn't permeate the car. Thumbs Up

My vote for Hatchbag too, keeps all fluids and other detritus in the hatchbag as opposed to all over the carpets. Get the tailgate cover too and yoiu'll be well away Thumbs Up

Get a hatchbag if you don't have the dogs in regularly and just need it occassionaly dog proof. If it's a regular thing I recommend a dog crate/cage ontop of the hatchbag.

We just used the normal dog-guard and hatchbag for years, but I was fed up with snotty windows and mud splashed over the headlining & onto seats all the way to the front sometimes. So when we also got the D4 instead of another hatchbag I bought a dog crate like this:

from http://www.transk9.com

They're great, and it quickly gets shifted from D3 to D4 as and when needed.

Of course a cheaper option is a tube of Immac for the hound... Whistle

2nd vote for the TransK9 cage. Leave mine in all the time - useful for keeping things in the boot securely too.
