Vague feeling D3
I know this is a bit random but my D3 has started feeling a bit vague and a lot less sure footed when driving around. There are no rattles as far as I can tell. You particularly notice it when it follows seams in the road badly or turning into a corner.
It's a 56 plate HSE with just over 60k on the clock, any suggestions on what to look for\at? I'm thinking that perhaps bushes are shot?

Steering rod ends, or are your tyres worn.
Next would be lower control arm bushes. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The rear suspension bushes caused my last D3 to feel very 'loose' on the road. A high speed lane change on the motorway did not feel very surefooted, with the back end feeling like it was hanging out in turns. When I had the rear arms replaced, the difference was like night and day! It was a costly job though.

Even if you have no knocks it might be worth starting with the ARB bushes cheapest and easiest to do and if they have not been changed are probably getting on a bit at 60k
What are your tyres like too?

When first got SWMBO's D3 it felt really vague, changed the 18" Wranglers for 17" Contis, and 4 way alignment done as tyres were bald on inside, felt like a different car.

Start with checking the tyre pressures, imbalance does weird things!Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

righty.. checked tyre pressures & are all even (2.5 bar for all 4). Noticed last night that there's a click\clunk felt through the steering wheel when dropping down a curb or comming off full lock.
are there any easy checks I can do or is it a case of dropping it into the dealers to get it checked? - any indy recommendations for investigation my reading?56 HSE
ISTR front should be 33PSI and rears 36. (Thats about 2.3Bar and 2.5Bar.)Mark.

Late reply. The click/clunk points to tie rods (steering rods). To check jack one of the front wheels off the ground. Sit your on the ground and grab either side of the tire and try to wiggle it. If you get any play that points to either outer or inner tie rods or both. I just replaced my inner and ouiter tie rods and it took me no more than 1.5 hours for the complete job. Noise and clunk feeling in the steering wheel is gone.

Interesting. My tires are currently: R 39 psi, F 36 psi. If I go any lower it sets off the TPMS. This is with the 255/55-19. Michelin Synchrone.
My tire pressure card was removed from my dorr jamb so I don't have the official figures that LR recs. What is the rec. pressure for a 2006 HSE V8?
