Any recommendations for European Breakdown cover |
|
I'm going to France next month - Of course my D3 will not let me down but I thought I had better get some breakdown cover just in case - I have full AA cover - but they want £88 to cover me for one week in France - Any suggestions of a better more reasonable service...?

Try RAC, just got mine from there to cover car and tintent uk and Europe just over £200. This also includes membership to the camping and carava club and covers caravans with a shiping lenght over 7 meters. Be careful if taking a tin tent as most breakdown services will not cover tin tents with a shipping length over 7 meters.
Kam does your cover cover the tin tent if you are towing it as well? MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I need the same, so I've just read through Kam's cover. Yearly European cover for £55.00
Key points from the bumpf is:-
Car under 16 years of age, no more than 5t gross weight, 6.5m length 3m height and 2.5m wide.
If your vehicle breaks down whilst towing a cravan or tariler, we will recover yoiu vehicle together with caravan or trailer providing they do not exceed the following dimensions:-
8m in length, 3m in height and 2.5m in width.
£200 parts & labour covered
Car hire £70/day up tp £500
B&B £30/day up to £500
AA one covers (as an option) up to £500 parts & labour, but also cost about £80 for a 5 day trip and £127 for a year policy, so this one seems a great price.
As with all these, the proof of the pudding etc, but seems to be OK.
As I'll be going back out to France after summer (for New year) it makes sense to get a year policy. Great price Bodsys Brake Bible
D4/D3 Remote FBH heat kits
BAS Remaps/ EGR Blank
Transmission Flush

Yes it will cover trailer/caravan being towed. Have been asked this before, it won't cover horse box with horse inside it. I.e. won't cover any living thing within a trailer, just the car with people in it, and the trailer itself. Don't think Mondial have provision to move horses etc in the event of a breakdown!
