2011my Embargo lifted today!

All,

The embargo covering 2011my is lifted today for Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport. Your local dealers will now be able to share the 2011my information with you, however a summary is as follows:

Range Rover Sport

3.6 TDV8 withdrawn from production.
3.0 TDV6 V-Max increased to 124mph.
Badges changed to silver/green as opposed to gold/green.
DPF fitted as standard to all TDV6 vehicles to meet Euro 5 regulations.
New colours being introduced including Siberian Silver.
Autobiography being made available in both 3.0 TDV6 and 5.0 Supercharged.
Introduction of HSE Lux model.
Reshaped rear headrests to meet safety requirements.
Optional bodykit available as a factory order on all models.
Hill Start and Gradient Acceleration Control available.

Discovery 4

Badges changed to silver/green as opposed to gold/green.
DPF fitted as standard meet Euro 5 regulations.
New colours being introduced including Siberian Silver.
Reshaped rear headrests to meet safety requirements.
Hill Start and Gradient Acceleration Control available.
2.7 TDV6 engine with manual gearbox discontinued and replaced with a 210bhp 3.0 with automatic for Commercial.
3.0 210bhp being badged as TDV6 and 3.0 245bhp being badged as SDV6.
Electric leather seats with arm rests (non-memory) as an option on GS models.

The above information is purely a summary, and as mentioned your dealer will be able to discuss it in more detail with you. I will hopefully post more information when I return from the 3 Peaks Challenge next Tuesday.

I must admit that I read the other thread and couldn't understand what the bad news was. I can only guess that it could be in connection with the commercial loosing the manual gearbox. FYI you can upgrade the 210bhp TDV6 Commercial to a 245bhp SDV6 Commercial for an option price of £1,000. 8)

Hope this helps, and apologies that as a franchised dealer I have not been able to contribute to the discussions until now.

I knew some of those changes but most didnt apply to me. The list of changes is very small. The badging is no big deal.

The only one that potentially does apply to me is the Hill Start and Gradient Acceleration Control. I read that it is an enhancement to the terrain response system. Do you know if its a cost option or an automatic enhancement to the existing system?

Doubledoom,

From the limited information that I have it looks like both systems are a standard item across the range. It also appears that they are passive and do not require any driver intervention (i.e. you won't need to select the system, it will automatically 'cut-in' when required).

Hope this helps, and hopefully there will be more info that will clarify 100% soon.

Having been out of UK for sometime, will the DPF only make a difference to Company allowance or will it effect VED also.

This is another one of those things that I knew would annoy me, but kept quiet until now.

Last year they brought out the D4 with the new 3.0L TDV6 - the majority of these engines were sold in SE (outside of the UK) or HSE trims (worldwide)........now the TDV6 is the "entry level" engine and the "top shelf" (which is the same as the old 3.0 TDV6) is called the SDV6.

No real issue with the name change (although it sounds Censored stupid - it reminds me of the old Rover Vitesse as well as chlamydia), but I feel that some of the people who paid out for the 245bhp TDV6 engine a few months ago will now feel something cheated with the badge on the back of their 50-60K motor now being relegated to the entry level engine.

As a good thing though, some of our sponsors who work in Parts Departments are about to start doing a very good trade in silver/green badges Laughing

Nah I just dont think it matters really tbh.

Perhaps I am more relaxed on the grounds it won't affect me anyway unless they recall my D3 to add "STD Clinic Special" on the back or whatever they go on to next.

The key think is the actual car still sounds great.
