But what would happen if you put black duck tape over them and the end quarter panels?

Just curious Confused

This was the first mod I did to our 2005 D3 Basic. All I needed onto of the lamps and bezels were the bumper loom and a headlamp switch, part number YUD501220PVJ. about £20-25 at the time.

Be aware that if you have a basic coil sprung one, you will have a headlamp leveling adjuster on the headlamp switch - you will not get on of these combined with front fog lamp included as LR never made such a vehcile.

The answer is make sure you headlamps are adjected correctly before the MOT Whistle

If this is front fog lights, then they are not part of an MOT test at all. So they can be fitted, but not wired up, or wired up and only one working and you won't fail as long as it is the front fog lights

All lights on a vehicle must work. ALL of them. Even if it's only under the bonnet. Pretty stupid, I know.

Front fog lights aren't part of the MOT test regardless of what state they are in

Not true.

Front fog lights are not included in the legal 'list' of lights that must work.

If you are interested, the legislation that defines the list of lights that must work is given here:
