2nd thing I did when I got in my new one. First thing was to move the seat to something more suiting my oompah-loompah stature I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Re: Safety Belt alarm (disabled) |

Ecosse wrote:A very good safety device, but the beeping is so annoying (eg when moving a trailer around & need to take safety belt off).
But it can be disabled! the same system as applies to Fords works - simply turn ignition on then rapidly (within 1 min) put the safety belt in & out of the clip 9 times! On the 9th time the safety belt light will stay on for a while & then after that you still get the safety belt light but not the "beep" One caution... I don't yet know how to re-enable the "beep"
Fantastic !!!

Have ment to post this months ago, and only thought of it today when thread popped into new posts again,
- this trick is the first thing i do when getting into ANY D3, as the boing drives me even more insane, in turn this drives my LR dealer insane as EVERY D3 he lends out to me during services/warnanty work etc etc , arrives back with boing diasabled its really pi55e5 him off
- on the topic of the airbags, I can certify ( unfortunately ) that yes the airbags most definitely do go off when this trick is employed and the boing is switched off, and funnily enuf, after the airbag slapped the face off me, one of my first thoughts were, wahey the airbags do work with the boing off.
ps
dont tell the dealer how its done, its absolutely wreaking his toaster , how I do it. Nine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time.
Also appears 9/10 of stopping is stopping in time
