Oh is that what you have to do. I took my ignition key for a ride on my bike for 10 minutes Rolling Eyes mind you it still worked.

Ok everyone, there's good news and bad news:
The bad news is that there is NOT a known 1791-style activator for the latest nav dvd (YIW500200), so a spot of DIY enabling (on MY06 or earlier cars) isn't possible... unless somebody stumbles accross a code that works. 1791 was apparently designed as a fix for any poor soul trapped in a Cadillac & wanting to take their mind of that fact by enabling the up-front screen to show DVD movies which previously only played on the rear screens. Laughing . It is quite by accident that this code also happens to enable on-the-move input for the older maps loaded onto the L-R system.
The GOOD news is that it apparently CAN be enabled - but it requires some software upgrading patch or flash (limits of my IT know-how have just been reached) that can only be done by the boffin who oversees all the software enhancements at each LR-dealer. Later this week, I hope to have the actual name (or code) that relates directly to this fix, so those of us in this predicament can go to their dealer armed with the correct info & hopefully not get fobbed off with techno-babble.
Until the next exciting installment, then...

I thought Slimer had posted a fix for Sat Nav on the Move a while back, and it works for any MY or disk version - tad expensive solution, I dont mind adding, but a fix is a fix. Wink

From another thred from Mossy

Quote --

Comparing the two disks (old and new) side-by-side (and I dont mean look at it - yeah you were thinking it ), the only software difference seems to be a cunning little file called 'Loading'.

Just a thought... maybe this file is the firmware update? If it is, a disk without it might run as old with the 1791 hack? Simple edit process and re-burn?

Un-quote

I have done this and while the nav disk apears to be working fine ,the 1791 hack does not .
All i can presume is that the upgrade already altered something so it wont work ...well ,worth a try

Thanks for the info anyway Mossy

Big Cry

I only thought about after sticking the new disk in and updating, so there was no going back. Doh.

Oh well, I have another great idea...lets try '0001' - nope Crying or Very sad , '0002'-nope Crying or Very sad , '0003' - nope Crying or Very sad , dont hang around guys I could be here a while.... although feel free to look in anytime to see if I'm awake. '0004' - nope Crying or Very sad ....

If we had 100 members with 65/06 sat nav systems & 07 discs we could assign blocks off 100 numbers. Since 10 is more likely, we'd need blocks of 1000! Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
