Not sure if posted in the correct section so apologies in advance if I have posted incorrectly
Need to get a 38K mile service.
Have been quoted £372 plus Vat from T.H.Whites in Wotton Basset
This will be my first service since getting the Disco so have no benchmark to compare it with.
Is this good. I am guessing after tomorrow I will get hit for 20% VAT so looking at £427 ish.
Plus I need an MOT D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

I dont think I paid much under this for my 38000 service at TH White.
Although VAT will prob go up in the budgie tomorrow it won't kick in for a week or so minimum i would have thought, retailers have got to be given time to make the changes. I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

must be on dates, rather than mileage, as 30k and 45k are the mileage service points.

Mine is a MY06 (march) and did state this to T.H.Whites and told them it is on 38k miles.
Is there some higher price tag if it was 4 year service rather than the 3 year service? D4 HSE - Aintree Green

I think (and it should be in your service book) that first service is service type A, then B, then A agian, so in mileage terms that would be service B at 30k miles and service A at 45k miles (but with the addition of air filter change - if I've got this right.)
In age it would be service A at 12months, B at 24 months, A again at 36months and B again at 48 months.
I seem to recall the B service being more expensive.
I'm sure somebody with more wisdom than me will be along shortly to confirm or deny what I've just written

A 30k service at MJFews in March 2010 cost me £483.78 inc vat which included a MOT @£54 
I had a courtesy car (Fiesta)
An end of warranty check over and a power steering reservoir that still needs topping up 
I'll let you decide what actually got done

Yesterday i got a quote of £365 inc vat at Stratstones in Newport .They called me!!!

want to ask them what hourly rate TH whites are charging as they have a LR Allegiance card which knocks the hourly rate back to around 75ish an hour
