Ian, these look an excellent replacement to the 0.00001W pale orange bulbs the car comes with as the standard sidelights, however are they suitable for use where the extra heat from the Adaptive lighting halogen bulbs are present in the sidelight housing?
Thanks Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I've got similar LED ones in mine and there does not appear to be any problems with sharing space with the halogen lamps,
TBH, I don't think the halogens are on for long enough to build up any significant amount of heat.Clive
I have just fitted the HIDS4U LEDs to the front sidelights, and moved the existing sidelight bulbs into the previous blank holders behind the amber reflectors. Here's a couple of points that may help others:-
Firstly, these are NOT bulbs, they are LEDs - light emitting diodes. And diodes only permit current to flow in one direction, so the replacement units are polarity conscious. If they don't work, you need to take them out and put them in the other way around. It is easier to do this BEFORE refitting the lights and grille.
Second, while the lights are out you can clear the hole to use the second bulbholder. There is very little room to work, but removing the bracket holding the slider that locks into the bodywork improves things just enough. I got an old-fashioned hand drill and, working at a slight angle, used an 1/8th part bit to drill 3 holes at the bottom of the boss where the bulbholder fits. Then I enlarged the holes with a 3/16th part bit. There is a hexagonal raised lump in the centre of the base that stops one getting in any further holes, but the bottom is now weakened. From there I used a 7/16th part bit without the drill, just working it between fingers and thumb until it caught. - then with a pair of water-pump pliers, like a ratchet, to cut through the remainder of the plastic.
I know AlanG has used a heated drill bit to melt through, but I was cautious that I could melt too much and it would be irreversible. All that could go wrong with drill bits is that you go beyond where you need to. A drinking straw (Micky D's provide) and a bit of sook gets the swarf out.
The sidelights make a huge improvement, even in daylight as I use them as running lights. The amber side-side-light is not as impressive, but does show where the front of the vehicle starts when viewed from the side.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It could be me but at the beginning of the over complex buying procedure on your website it showed a Paypal logo but after completing the 452 pages of information input and finally arriving at checkout I was unable to pay with the said Paypal method, why? And what's more I didn't get a crystal or even a glimpse of an annoying bold headed bloke playing a harmonica

Maybe white is not the best colour for penetration in fog?
Long ago fog lights had a definite yellow about them as that was then alleged to give best visibility. What's the current thoughts?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Still Way too light to photo with them on, and notice a difference in a picture, but LED's are fitted nicely.

Hello,
Looks like a nice economical way to have running lights, but a quick question. Is it possible to apply computing magic to save me wearing down my fingers twirling the otherwise automatic headlights switch, i.e. sidelights always on when ignition is on??????
