DOOR LOCK STUCK

My 2006 Disco3 has just developed a fault with thye locking of near side pasenger door lock.
Its locked and will not open on fob or manulay from the door handle.
I can hear the mechanics clonking inside the door when the fob is used, but theere appears to be nothing connected to the door handle itself.

How the hell do you open the door to remove the door panel to take a look at what is wrong?

A number of people have experienced this fault, with most of them reporting that it goes away again through time.

When it happened to me on the OSR door, I took it to dealer and they had lots of people look at it and fiddle about with switches and the remote with no success. By the time I took it back a week later to get the lock replaced under warranty it was working fine - but they replaced it anyway.
A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Had the same prob on my NS Rear door - took it to LR under warranty and it was OK on the day & eventually I too got it replaced under warranty despite the fact that they couldn't replicate the fault. I figured that if you press the lock button on the remote and then at anytime press lock again (ie before you next unlock the vehicle) then there was a much higher chance of it not unlocking when you go to unlock the car. Basically if it was stuck in the locked position it would generally cure itself after being driven a couple of miles (NB I have got the auto lock feature turned on, so if you haven't it may be worth turning it on until you get a new door lock/latch fitted as I believe it to be the auto locking while driving that 'fixed' the stuck lock every time) PS turn off the child lock on that door just in case you end up with it really stuck in the lock position!)

Apply WD40 and wait. Potentially several days/weeks until the liquid gets to where it's needed. Happened on my passenger side front door. Was stuck for a while, even after the WD40, but eventually it started working again.
