However, by the time I got to Worcester from somewhere far far away, the rain had stopped, and there were many lakes in the dips ..
Well you just have to don't you.
So , tried a few, and got the bow wave just right in one bit that was about 2 foot deep.
Then I went to another by the train station, and sort of thru the towel in when the water got very deep. Wasn't doing the bow wave bit at this point, so gingerly and very slowly backed up and went home( hopefully without being spotted .
The point of this is.. Next day in the works car park, I noticed that I could see more of the front end than usual. The cover that un-clips to reveal the front tow hook had gone...
So, on way home, I went via the big puddle, and guess what, there was the cover on the pavement..
Retrieved it... Looks ok, saved some dosh on having to buy a new one!
I guess backing up in deep water was too much for the front cover to cope with. Now I need to go find some new lugs to fix it back on ................Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

Hope none of the RRS lot are looking...
Also had fun in the rain last week - only about 9" deep though - but a good laugh none the less!
The plastic lugs/screws that hold the front and rear tow eye covers are only 30p each from LR - part no. LDYR500010 LH3CD CLIP.
I purchased two a week ago, as I lost one on the Rockingham Castle weekend.
It's worth buying a few spares when you're next at your LR dealer.Matt

Aren't you an ickle frightened using the only means of starting the vehicle to secure a couple of stubborn cover plates??21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
I'm confident the plastic clips would break a long time before the key.
Have you tried turning the manual lock with the key? If it can survive that it'll have no trouble with a few plastic clips! The End

Haven't had the opportunity yet ...I take it then that you reach the point where you think the key is going to break ?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
