I think my 06 headrests are solid.
Another blasted thing to check...
Could it be simply that they need a bit of exercise? A bit of upsy and downsy? It's a pretty simple mechanism holding them in place Club missing my D3

If yours move around, shake, shimmy, or jumble you'll know. Mine make a fumbling noise that corresponds to their dance moves. When I see rough roads ahead I sort of feel like a choreographer because depending on speed I can deliver break dancing or a waltz 
My 2nd row seats have only been up and down for 3rd row access or pushed flat 25+/- times since purchase. 16 D4 Landmark
