What height axle stands do you need for the D3 |
|
What is the minimum height axle stands for a D3, I don't need to keep the wheel on so I can lift and then lower down onto them, but obviously it needs to remain stable.

I've got some of these:

3 ton each, folding, and these are cheaper than I paid 18months ago - for a tenner, you may as well get some.

They look like these, so I may pop to local Screwfix so I can get EPB done tonight. Towing a tintent with no handbrake is not really a good idea.

Something else that might be worth getting hold of, is a trolley - I bought one from Halfrauds when I got my defender, and is excellent at being able to get under the car without crawling as such - you can just scoot under. The defender is high enough to do it without ramps/stands.
I used it again yesterday under the Disco and worked a treat. The one I have also converts to a small seat - so things like breaks are easy to do as you sit on a chair, rather than you knees etc! Mark.

I've also been thinking of getting some axle stands where is best to put them ie what part of the underside will take the load

Under the chassis rails - same place as you put the jack.
Just don't put them under the air compressor or the sills and you're fine
