...enjoy!
Picking a new car up from a dealer is one of lifes great pleasures!
I like the camera point! In addition, take someone with you to take photos of you and your new baby 8)
I managed to get my trade-in parked right next to my new D3 and my lad got a shot of the two parked side by side with me stood in the middle!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Big difference to when I picked my new D3 up. Walked around it, then signed the paperwork, then was off a couple of minutes later. All that was said was "you've had a Sport, so you'll know how it all works"...I agreed....I was gone.Matt

Hmm All I got was a knock at the door, delivery driver just threw the keys at me and said 'sign ere mate'.
However, that was just 2 weeks after launch, so I was just sooo glad to get one anyway.

So lots of constructive advice for picking up a near £40K motor...
Looks like I'm being a tad 'a___ retentive' in my approach compared to others here. If you spent £40K ( not in the UK any more ) on a small house you would have a survey done...
Oh well, I am looking forward to the first drive as I'm picking it up from Marshalls of Peterborough and driving it back to north of York.
So if you see a D3 driver with a large grin heading north on the A1 mid Friday afternoon........ guess who?NOW SOLD: 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Zermatt silver with Alpaca Leather

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on Marshalls when you get it, as that's where mine is coming from.

Just enjoy the moment really , identify any major issues at the time - minor ones, you probably wouldn't notice at handover anyway and can be sorted as and when...
I did complile my own checklist to take with me.... and binned it as I walked out of the house

Paint work is the only thing I'd really look at the rest can be sorted. Most the stuff they explain you'll not remember anyway. Have fun!DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
