"Butting in"? Charming. I suppose you wouldn't have minded my "butting in" if I was adding myself to your list of customers. You know absolutely nothing about my experience, and since I never commented on you or your experience, I would have appreciated you not assuming mine. The forum is supposed to be about helping and supporting each other with unbiased advice. Sadly I think this is changing as more 'biased' advice seems to be becoming more and more prolific.
You're absolutely right, I can have my own opinion, and it is unbiased, and I don't have an axe to grind, I'm not trying to line my own pockets. I'm not sure I agree with your engine oil analogy either. Despite them being entirely different things and hardly a comparison, you get more than half of the oil out on the first draining! As for engines, the reason we don't leave half the oil in, is that we don't have to! When you bring a torque converter into then equation, we have to start doing things differently.
I'm simply informing the readers of this forum of an alternative that would save them money. They are not stupid, and they don't need all your sales talk to convince them. They will make their own minds up. As Discovery 3 owners, we use this forum to stick together and offer friendly and helpful advice to one another, enabling each other to share and fix our problems, and to offer other great advice. My posting was intended in that spirit.
Regardless of your sales pitch, which may or may not be correct, the double flush is the recommended method by LR, so it really can't be that bad. I'm using an oil that meets and far exceeds the LR spec, and what's more I bought enough for less than £90 to do the duble flush procedure again another two times, so if you're right about the old oil (what little there is left in there) dragging the new oil down, then IF the judder comes back, I'll simply do it again.
As it happens, some months ago I approached you to have this done myself, and was met with some degree of attitude at the time. I contacted several other members of the forum who said they'd experienced the same kind of attitude, and so that in fact was what drove me to look for my own solution to the problem, and I post that information on here purely for the benefit of the other forum members. Not for my benefit, not to make me money or further my own business interests.
(all my own opinion, of course)

Marsie,
I'll be there in the morning, if you could put me down first up I can then get back over the M62 before it becomes a carpark later in the afternoon.
Cheers

Just a quick thanks to Gordon = 4 Tech, and Paul = Marsie
Went over to Pauls place this morning, great bunch of guy's, and gal's for that matter, that constantly kept the tea flowing.
Had the flush done by Gordon, a real expert in his field. Actually watching 14 litres of dirty oil being replaced by 14 litres of new oil, you can see why it wasnt upto its best.
Took the car for a blow-out before returning home, Great, no more sluggishness, shuddering on hills. Money well spent in my opinion.
Thanks once again guys.
Kevin-T.............................
p.s. Gordon.............
let us know regarding the breather pipe you mentioned, also the camera interface when you find one. I would like the camera, when you source the interface.

quite a productive day Big Thanks to Gordon for doing the megaflush and nice to put faces to the names on the forum. Was nice to meet you all
All i can say to anyone considering having this done is "go for it!".I am often wary of so called miracle cures but this is certainly one of them, without doubt the best mod i have done to my disco upto now.No more juddering, smoother gearchanges, quieter and no more thump in the back when trying to accelerate slowly.
Gordon certainly knows his stuff and to top it all off is a very helpful chap
Thanks again

Just to second the comments kevin-t and marsie make,
I'm one of life's cynical sods, but was amazed to see the change of colour from old to new oil giving me confidence all the old stuff has gone.
On the way across to Yorkshire I acheived 27.7mpg, on the return I achieved exactly 32mpg, a figure I'd never seen on my display. Even taking into account a small amount for slightly different driving (both journeys kept at a steady 70 - 75), there is a significant improvement.
The car is quieter, doesn't seem to push on braking and gearbox reaction time has improved.
The real rest will be the day to day travel, after a week or so I'll give an update.
Regardless of the mega flush is was nice to chat with Gordon, Paul, Kev and co today about LR related things.
Hopefully the sight of my legs hasn't put you off your tea.

is there any update on the "megaflush" saga of 2010. there seemed to be a little bit of controversy about the ins & outs of this treatment.

Can anyone recommend a mega flush in northwest England, near to Wigan ideally. Any idea on cost?
Thanks
