Reading other posts on the General forum seems to indicate longer than expected delivery dates due to holidays and parts problems.
This might not make you guys feel any better having to wait for your D3's but I ordered mine in early Dec 04 not having ever seen one in the metal let alone driven one. I missed the first order by only a couple of days (poor LRA to Dealer communication) and mine would be in the next build for Australia. At that time no Australain deliveries would be built and plated before Jan 05.
The D3 turned up about 2 weeks earlier than expected and I got it in the 3rd week of April 05. Build date was Feb 05 so expect transportation to take 2-3 months. Almost a 5 month wait.

Haggis,
There is a shipment landing 11/07/06 (that's the date mine is supposed to land). I'd suspect there would be general stock on board - perhaps they'll have one in a spec level to meet your order?
Chris,
That's about right - ordered end March'06, confirmed build date of May'06, arrival July'06.
Perhaps if we all pushed really hard from the East, and moved Australia a bit more West.......
Vic. '11 TDV6 - Stornoway Grey.... still lovin' it!!

Thanks Baggy
I spoke to the dealer again today - still no word on build date or VIN. Certainly no indication that a shipment is due to arrive 11/7/06.
I ordered a TDV6 SE with rear air and locking rear diff, apparently not a typical order, so I guess I need to wait for a (my) specific vehicle. D3 (06) SE TDV6, Rear Locker, Rear Air, ARB bar w/winch, Safari Snorkel, 110l aux fuel tank, Kaymar rear bar (twin wheel carrier), Black Widow rear storage system, Rhino rack, GME UHF, Codan HF, IPF HID lights, CSA Explorer 17" w/BFG Mud Terrain KM2 - see Australian 4WD Monthly #103

My next motor will be .........hhhhhmmmm ...let me think.......
Mine is an early build model (now 18 months old), and I haven't had problems either.
You may get the odd (and I do mean odd) error on the Information pack, but I don't think this has actually stopped many, if any, of the cars from operating.
Generally an engine restart seems to clear most of the problems I've read about.
I'd buy another one in a flash. By far the best car I've owned.
I just wish my experience with the service network (over the last Three LRs I've owned) lived up to the experience with the cars. Dave

In that case I hope my dealer is not your dealer - so to speak
Mine is Trivett Paramatta (or at least they have my order...) I have a V8 living here in Sydney. I get about 15.3 hwy and 17.1 city. Most of the time I am averaging 16.3 combined. I own a early model D3 HSE V8 Fully loaded. Make sure to get the fridge in the arm rest. Nice to have drink in traffic on the way home! would buy one again if given the chance to do over. I have had a few little issues, but the dealer in parramatta has been helpful and can say I expected a few little things with a new model anyway.

I've had mine 11 months and 45,000km and had no real problems except for the compressor failure and replacement about 30,000km ago. Best car I've ever driven.
Don't forget that a ship arrival date does not correspond to delivery date. It can take several days or even weeks to clear customs. i think mine took 11 days. Have a nice day!

We have had ours 3 months and have travelled 8000kmsso far. After the last service and upgrade by our dealer all the niggles have gone and we cannot be happier. being previous sedan drivers exclusively the D3 has changed our lives.
We are already planning the next purchase in three years time( another D3 Disco 4 Sept 09
