Hello,
I'm an Italian owner of Discovery 3 Tdv6.
Someone knows to say to me the offset number of alloy wheels 7x17 (Discovery 3 S) and of alloy wheels 8x18 (Discovery SE) ?
I thank you for cooperation

I *think* the lug pattern is 5 by 120mm, they are stamped that way on my 10 spoke 18" x 8" wheels

Hello,
I thank you for your answer but 5 x 120 is the bolt pattern or bolt circle: this is the diameter of an imaginary circle formed by the centers of the wheel lugs.
Instead the wheel's offset is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. You can see: www.yokohamatire.com/utcustom.asp
Can you see if also this number is stamped on your 10 spoke 18" x 8" wheels?
(On my old Discovery TDI 300 this number was stamped on wheels and was 33 mm).

On the 18*8 LR wheels the offset is 53mm.
I'm not sure what the 17" are.
I've got 17*8 aftermarket wheels for off roading and they have 38mm offset and they are perfect. This is 15mm more track on each side or 30mm overall.

Thank you very much for you reply.
My Disco TDV6 S has 17" wheels and I would to replace it whit 18" wheels.
I would find where is the offset number stamped on my 17" wheels: can you help me?
Where is the offset number stamped on LR alloy wheels?
Moreover, your wheels 17x8 aftermarket are very nice: can you give me some information?
Thank you very much.

I can confirm that PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) is 5/120. This means there are 5 studs and the diameter of the circle of studs is 120mm. This is the same for every wheel on the Disco3 (obviously).
The offset is 53P. P for positive. I don't know which way is positive (in or out). I assume this is the same for all 8inch wide rims. 53P is something your wheel supplier would understand.
The other thing to be aware of is that you will need the replacement wheel to be able to withstand the vehicle mass (don't forget any load you might carry). I imagine the owners manual details maximum loads, so you should be able to work back from there.
As to where it is all stamped on the rim, others will need to help since I am still waiting for a delivery date..... Disco68,
The wheels on my D3 are Australian Performance Wheels (Style BB6). The finish on them does not compare to the original LR wheels for finish quality but they were bought for off-roading and have been scratched up a fair bit already so finish wasn't a number one concern.
The load rating on the rims is 1400kg compared to the 18*8 with 940kg. So you could say they are well over the LR specification.
As for wheel offset, you should be able to see this stamped/cast on the spoke or hub but on the inside only. You are most likely to find it easily by looking at your spare wheel which will be showing the inner surface underneath your D3. You will also see the load rating.
Hope that helps.
