Hi all
Started our D3 this afternoon and immediately it showed suspension fault on the display along with the light illiminated in orange. The centre orange light on the height selector goes out and the height cannot be altered.
Has anyone experienced this before? What is the likely cause and am I looking at a trip to the main dealer?

seams quite common at the mo, Mine did it last night. booked to see dealer Friday.
Could be a number of things, from sensor packed up, to compressor.
Maybe the ice/snow/defrost is causing these issues? 57 RRS TDV8

One of the lads in our workshop at work is ex Land Rover technician, plugged it into the diagnostic at the weekend came up with two faults for the compressor. The bonus is he has a new compressor he never got round to fitting, so hopefully its going to be sorted this Saturday morning.

Well.......
New compressor fitted same fault still on the D3, now believes its a pressure sensor located somewhere near the compressor?
Mate who fitted the new compressor will be fitting the new sensors and my compressor which will save some money, shame dealers cannot be like that!
No doubt looking at another week before its going to be sorted.
Anyone know anything about these 'pressure sensors'?

Not sure whats going on with our D3, on Saturday we went out it was still showing a suspension fault. Left it parked in a carpark for an hour on our return it seemed normal drove back home with no fault showing.
I then tried to raise to off road height and it wouldnt raise and showed suspension fault again. As my partner went out in it an hour later it rose to off road height as she set off and flatly refused to go back down all day!
Sunday morning arrived went to go out in the car and no fault displayed, dropped the car back to normal height and was fine for the rest of the day. Tried to change ride height and it seems to be changing with no problems. mate at work has now got the new pressure sensor and planning to fit it tomorrow along with my old compressor.
Has anyone else experienced their D3 behaving in this way?

Sorry Lee no ideas, mine turned out to be the compressor. Apparently it was shattered internally

Mines still working, but still getting sensor fitted, not sure its actual name fits near the compressor and the air pipes run from it.
The compressor mate has fitted is very noisy compared to my old one, which I think he is going to refit and save me some money!

I have the same suspension fault syptoms as you. Did replacing the sensor sort the problem.

I have been having the same problem exaclty for the last week or so. I haven't done anything about it yet but was going to take it to the dealer this week. I hope its not going to be expensive as its now out of warranty. I read some other posts about it might being the battery voltage level ?
Would be really interested to hear how you got on and if you have any advice for me before I falk out yet another hefty bill !

Maybe something else you can check:
The air suspension is not operating correctly, with the possibility of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1A31-01 stored.
Cause: Corrosion in the chassis harness connector C2099 (installed at the front control valve) or associated wiring, located in the right-hand front wheel arch.
NOTE: Do NOT install a new complete chassis harness for this concern.
Action: Should a customer express concern, and connector C2099 or the associated wiring has corrosion, install a new overlay harness. Follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

Mine turned out to be a fault with the compressors exhaust valve. Unfortunately not a serviceable item so a new compressor required. Got the work done at Keith Gott Landover.

Mine has just started doing this today, completely out of the blue. Happened about 5 or 6 times today alone, and not seen it before today. I'll have to start investigating. Weather is particularly grim today too, so I wonder if water ingress is causing trouble with those connectors in the wheel arches.
I must say I find it interesting that many of the recent problems I have had with my car including this, seem to be coinciding with so many others with 05MY cars like mine. It's just interesting that some of these components fail at similar ages or mileages. It makes sense really, but my experience with cars in the past has shown identical components to fail at completely different stages of age and use. The Disco 3 however seems to be very uniform. There suddenly seem to be a lot of strange suspension faults. Could it be corrosion due to salt over the winter?

After reading everyone's posts about their suspension faults, it makes me feel a bit better. I'm in the same boat, suspension lowers to access height, knocks all programmes off, seems to sort itself out if you switch on and off, but can't keep doing this.
It only does it now and again, you can go for a couple of days and it doesn't happen, which makes it even more of a pain.
Mine's a 54 plate, what's the common thought on this happening to cars this age ?
For everyone that's had to have a new compressor fitted, what's the cost been like ?? Hopefully I'll not ned to go cap in hand to the bank !!!
