Brake pads

At my last dervice some 6000 miles ago I was told I had about 4-5000 miles left in the brake pads. I'm off to scotland for a holiday/marrige in a few weeks and don't know wether to change them before I go or not. On wheel on inspection they look ok, but I don't know at what stage they should be changed. Mine SE auto was an ex demo model so the first 8500 miles wasn't done by me and I would assume they've been a hard 8500 miles. So should I change or wait to dash light appears.

IMO, with such a heavy vehicle I wouldn't risk letting the pads get to worn. The possible implications don't bear thinking about, least of all being damaged discs.

Yeah, another trip to the dealer. Brakes are not worth messing with. Was going to change them myself, but my 2T Lidl jack probably won't lift the beast.

It would probably do better than the standard jack!

Lift one wheel at a time, it should be OK.

2T jack should be ok one corner at at time as long as you use axle stands.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Is £165 for front and rear?

The pads cost about £50 per axle set. Mine charged me about that to change just the rears. Did the fronts myself.
