Do you have the full surround camera system or just the reversing camera?2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
These kind of things always happen on cars made in the Northern hemisphere being driven in the Southern Hemisphere (maybe due to the fuel swirling the wrong way in the filter?) It's a known problem with the camera, take it to your dealer for a replacement camera.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Interesting.....
I was asking because quite a few of us have fitted the stand-alone D4 reversing camera to our D3s.
In nearly all cases, the image is not mirrored and there are no guidelines shown on the screen.
In another case (I think it was Bobby Crispbox), his camera showed the image correctly mirrored and with the guidelines. That's why I was asking if the OP had the stand-alone camera or the full surround system to see if it was the same camera as we have.
primadonna_lk - can you confirm that your camera now displays on the screen as though you were looking over your shoulder (i.e. left-side of vehicle on the right-side of the screen), or is it now showing mirrored (i.e. left-side of vehicle on the left-side of the screen)?

The SSM only applies to the standalone reversing camera, not the full surround system.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Paul ,
I have had 4 normal reversing cameras now ..1 had no lines on and 3 have ( and they are the correct mirrored image )
Also have one of the surround system rears here ( and fronts ) ..but waiting for the ECU to see if there is any use for it .
Quite impressed how accurate the lines are

Thanks Wiggs,
Just to clarify, do you mean that all 4 had the correctly mirrored image, or just the 3 with the guidelines?

Im pretty sure all 4 did ( i can check on the one without lines as Buelbeast has it )G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
Was out yesterday and the camera was working fine in the morning, then in the afternoon I noticed that the yellow marker lines had disappeared and the imaged is no longer reversed.
Booked in for next Wednesday - also gave them the SSM details, so hopefully they'll get the parts in beforehand and I won't have to return for a second visit - not likely
Oh well, I suppose 6 months without a problem is pretty good going for a Discovery

Mine has also decided that it needed to switch and remove the lines. Only problem is even though it is an original LR4 camera, it was not purchased through Landrover, but a third party, Then fitted myself.
So I suppose I am stuffed and will have to purchase a new one. Discovery 4 2.7 SE

Has anyone with a faulty reversing camera used it as to give a forward facing view.

This 'feature' has just appeard on mine.
Just because I'm curious and wanted to get my facts straight when I take it in, I tried looking up details of SSM43538 as mentioned by Martin but couldn't find it.
I did see reference to "SSM43996 -10my camera image reversed and no yellow lines" which does describe my fault and wondered if anyone knows what this message says and is it the same as SSM43538
