Brakes and rotors

I just got my front and rear pads replaced. They were down to nothing at 20,000 Km. It was a $500.00 bill. The bad news???? The rotors will need to be replaced (yes, REPLACED) every 2nd brake job. The min and max spacs are soooo tight that they are disposable parts.

I assume you mean the brake discs?
to be honest, it doesn't surprise me - 2.5+ tonnes is a lot of weight to stop, although I would expect more than 20k km (12,427miles) from a set of pads... must be some seriously tight turns on your roads Wink

Had mine done (front & Back) on my last D3 at 28,000 miles which i thought was not bad as I towed with it as well.

I'd say you are a little lucky on two accounts:
1. Most Series II needed discs EVERY time
2. I'm having a hell of a time getting pads. they keep going on and off backorder.

$500 CDN?. I'm not sure what the conversion is. We're seeing $390 USD pads/discs front , $355 USD pads/discs rear.

I did over 60k miles in each of my previous D2's (manuals), and never changed disks. I guess your is an auto, which I would guess means you're on the brakes more.

Have 9200 Miles and the pads still look to have more than 1/2 of their original thickness. Very Happy The rotors are still nice and smooth as well.
